ISP Launch Therapeutic Pathway Training Programme

The national roll-out is well underway for all our ISP centres, with foster parents benefiting from experiential workshops and follow-up reflective practice sessions.

Suzannah Hill is head of therapy at ISP Fostering, she said: “We know the extraordinary difference that highly-trained foster parents can have on the lives of young people in care.

“What sets ISP apart from other independent foster care agencies is that our model recognises that therapeutic, wraparound support should not just be supplementary but is in fact intrinsic to a fostering placement.

“Our services are built on the understanding that the best and most meaningful outcomes for children in care and families are achieved through a model of therapeutic support that places the child’s specific needs at the centre.

“Our new Therapeutic Pathway is based on the latest research about the effects of trauma, neglect and abuse, and will help foster parents better contain, understand, empathise and directly work through the challenges our children and young people face as we support them to feel safe and able to develop within long-term meaningful relationships.”
