Established almost 40 years ago, our Rainham fostering centre has built a strong reputation for excellent quality foster care and achieving extraordinary outcomes for young people in care across Kent, including Dartford, Maidstone, Rochester, Tonbridge, Sheerness, and more.
As founders of therapeutic fostering, our foster parents receive in-depth training and professional development through our Therapeutic Pathway programme. This enables them to provide the very best support to children who have faced incredibly difficult childhood experiences.
As well as our industry-leading training programme, we surround our foster parents with a professional network of social workers, therapists and education experts, plus a fostering advisor – who’s generally had direct fostering experience too – so they have all the support they need to make a real difference.
Alongside our specialist training and support package, foster carers also receive a generous fostering allowance – up to £2,754 per month, per child, plus additional allowances and rewards.
Who can foster with ISP?
Fostering is open to people from a wide range of backgrounds. You can foster with ISP if you:

The ISP Therapeutic Approach
We believe therapeutic foster care should help children and young people understand who they are and reach their emotional, social and educational potential. Every child at ISP sits at the centre of their support, with care plans tailored to their individual needs.
We bring together a team of foster parents, therapists, social workers and educational specialists who work collaboratively to support each young person’s emotional and psychological development. This enhanced level of therapeutic support for children in care gives every young person the opportunity to lead healthy, happy lives.
Children receive an individual treatment plan created by our in-house therapists, which may include:

Cognitive behavioural therapy
Foster parents are part of the therapeutic team and receive training and ongoing guidance to help them understand a child’s experiences and respond in ways that help them feel safe, understood and more able to manage their emotions.
This approach gives young people the opportunity to grow, heal and build healthier relationships.
