How do fostering allowances work?
As an ISP foster parent, you’ll receive a generous allowance that’s generally tax-free. If you’re based in London, you’ll receive an enhanced fee to help cover the higher costs of caring for a child in the area.
A fostering allowance is made up of two parts — a professional fee to recognise your hard work, and an allowance to cover all the needs of the child in your care, including their clothing, food, and transportation. Unlike other fostering agencies, our allowance does not differ depending on the age of the child.

Additionally, we provide a comprehensive catalogue of online training, with mandatory and optional courses available through virtual group sessions or flexible e-learning.
As you expand your skills, you’ll progress through our foster parent pay tiers, offering you opportunities to increase your allowance in recognition of your development and length of service.
