Our Teynham fostering centre provides specialist therapeutic foster care to children and young people with complex needs across central Kent. Together, with our Whitstable and Rainham centres, we’ve been making a life-changing difference to children in care across Kent for over 35 years.
Situated in a picturesque farm, our Teynham centre offers a tranquil setting for foster parents and young people to attend training, various events and therapy. Due to its surroundings, it’s also a fantastic location for young people to spend time with their birth families.
As founders of therapeutic fostering, we’ve developed wrap-around support services and expertise to ensure that our foster parents are fully equipped in their roles and able to make a long-lasting difference to the children in their care. Some of these services include an extensive training programme for therapeutic foster care, 24/7 helpline with a qualified social worker, regular supervision and mentoring, as well as therapy and educational support for children.
Alongside an extraordinary support and training package, you’ll receive a generous fostering allowance – up to £635 per week, per child, depending on your experience and training– plus additional allowances and rewards, so you can dedicate your time and energy to the children in your care.
We’re urgently looking to recruit foster parents across Kent, including Ashford, Isle of Sheppey, Sittingbourne, Faversham, Swale, Shepway and surrounding areas.
Events for the family
When you join the Teynham team, you’ll be made to feel like part of the family from the moment you arrive and will be invited to regular social events and activities, so you get to spend some time with other foster families. Some of our social events include annual Christmas pantomime trips, Kids Club and family BBQ’s, as well as foster carer meals and lunches just for the adults.
At ISP, we like to bring all our families together for our annual ISP Fun Day, where kids enjoy a funfair, circus, football tournaments, music, food and more.
