This statement sets out ISP’s actions to understand all potential modern slavery risks related to its business and to put in place steps that are aimed at ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking in its own business and its supply chains.
As a Fostering Agency the organisation recognises that it has a responsibility to take a robust approach to slavery and human trafficking.
The organisation is absolutely committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in its corporate activities, and to ensuring that its supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking.
Organisational structure, supply chains and risk level
This statement covers the activities of Polaris and Group Companies.
The organisation operates in the UK only as a Fostering Agency with small supply chain for office services. The organisation is a service provider and operates in a low risk area in relation to slavery or human trafficking as it does not purchase, manufacture or distribute goods in the nature of it’s business. The supply chain of the business is limited to the purchase of office supplies and materials to support the fostering agency workers. The children who are looked after are subject to regulation through the relevant local authority and regular reviews of their care is carried out to ensure safeguarding standards are met.
Relevant policies/ practices
The organisation encourages all its workers, customers and other business partners to report any concerns. Staff have regular supervision meetings with managers and are encouraged to raise any concerns in the meetings
The organisation makes clear to employees the actions and behaviour expected of them when representing the organisation. The organisation strives to maintain the highest standards of employee conduct and ethical behaviour in all activities.
The organisation operates to a Safer Recruitment Policy in selecting and checking all new employees
The organisation rarely uses temporary labour, on the occasions that it does only specified, reputable employment agencies are used.
The organisation undertakes due diligence when considering taking on new suppliers, and regularly reviews its existing suppliers.
